A Light-hearted History of Brewing & Beer
If you missed this course when it was offered at Elder College, now is your chance to learn the true story of how beer created civilization (as well as accounting, taxes, land divisions, writing and arithmetic.)
In the ancient world, beer was featured in literature and art, mothers gave their children a snack of beer when they got home from school, and doctors used beer to treat everything from constipation to labour pains. Beer created trade empires in Europe, and fuelled early European explorations as well as the Industrial Revolution. Get ready to have a good time — beer hasn’t been this much fun since you were in university.
