Children and youth are valued members of our faith community. Comox United Church is committed to demonstrating our values and care through ministry for younger generations. We are a congregation that welcomes the presence of children and youth in our worship services.
In the right front area of the church space is an activity table with paper, art and craft supplies, and storybooks. Children can stay in this area with their families throughout the service or they can go out for a story time and activity with a volunteer leader. Parents and grandparents are also welcome to accompany their children for this time.
"The Ark" is a side play-room with a one-way window, accessible through a door beside the activity table. Families can use this space when they would like some time away from the main congregation while still able to see and hear the worship service.
Our children and family ministry is evolving to better meet the shifting demographics and needs of our congregation. The Congregational Education Team is exploring a multi-generational ministry that provides faith-based learning opportunities as well as supporting connections between families and elder-youth interactions and relationship building.
